Tumelo Mosaka

Tumelo exhibited a strong sense of innovation throughout his lecture, which was incredibly exciting. His interest in using new media works to keep the viewer in the gallery and fight the new tendencies of careless viewing that have been spawned by the internet really struck home with me because of my interest in some of the same topics. With new curators striving to keep gallery art alive in the time of Youtube I feel a lot better as an artist striving to eventually be exhibited. Tumelo also showed great strength in creating political commentary through his work with artists. This blending between curator and artist is the future as far as I'm concerned and to be able to work with with a curator who is invested in the community, gallery, and the artist is pretty inspiring.
